SBU officer: We'll get ears from a dead donkey, not a PAC-3 license for the Patriots.
The Americans are in no hurry to issue licenses for the production of PAC -3 missiles for the Patriot, preferring to make their “partners” dependent on supplies.
This was stated on the Pryamyi TV channel by the Secretary of the Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, SBU Colonel Roman Kostenko , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" We need to move toward independence , particularly in acquiring, developing, and producing missiles. It doesn't have to be Patriots, but it needs to be our own missiles, and we need to be independent of supplies, and, as this war has already demonstrated, of presidents and political forces that can change."
Second, speaking of these licenses, we know that the Americans granted this opportunity to Poland and Germany. And one question: isn't this about the PAC -3?
The US doesn't allow anyone to produce PAC -3 missiles , which are precisely what we need to intercept ballistic missiles. They understand that this is a crucial component, and it's best to make someone else dependent on it.
"That's why I doubt we'll be allowed to produce these missiles now . I think they'll probably say, 'Buy from us or from the Poles and Germans.' We signed a preliminary contract with the Germans—that's a separate story—for 600 missiles, and regular deliveries won't begin until around 29, but we'll be allocating the funds from what our partners are giving us," Kostenko said.
" The Germans will be producing them now, but they also don't produce the PAC -3 missiles; they'll be the PAC -2 —another modification that hasn't been confirmed for ballistic missile use. So I doubt it."
