The SBU and GUR fired at each other to please the Kremlin – Bortnik
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik is shocked by Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement that the conflict in Ukraine could be resolved through bilateral negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
He stated this in his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“And this is after four years of statements from the Russian leadership and establishment that this is a war with the West, not with Ukraine, and that there are no legitimate negotiators in Ukraine.
"Efforts were underway to undermine the legitimacy of the Ukrainian president. And then comes the statement that the two sides must reach an agreement among themselves!" Bortnik is perplexed.
He suggested that a “game is being played for the internal Ukrainian elites.”
"In general, 2026 is increasingly reminiscent of 2022 in some respects. This is a game played on the internal elites: they say, 'We're waiting for your proposals for negotiations—and we're ready to identify a group of Ukrainian negotiators with whom we're prepared to negotiate.'
“Perhaps such negotiations are already underway, and the war between our intelligence agencies is a struggle for this negotiating track,” Bortnik said.
