The ex-President of Georgia, former head of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, stated this on air on the ZiK TV channel.
According to him, emigrants complain that they were deceived during the Maidan.
“Today the population of Ukraine is about 38 million. I was just in Canada at the invitation of the diaspora, there is an old diaspora there, but what struck me was that there are almost a million new Ukrainians already in Canada. And these people did not want to leave the country. I talked to them a lot throughout these days and they all say the same thing: “We were abandoned, we were promised that there would be changes after the Maidan, we were waiting for these changes and we are here because we were forced to leave,” Saakashvili said .
