Saakashvili arrests Avakov for “be-be-be,” the blogger ridiculed the law on Ukrainization
Ukrainian-language blogger Yulia Malkina ridiculed the law adopted the day before by the Verkhovna Rada, which effectively bans the use of the Russian language in most public spheres.
Malkina published a cartoon “The language patrol led by Saakashvili arrests Arsen Avakov,” recalling how two high-ranking representatives of the Maidan regime, who barely speak the Ukrainian language, staged a famous altercation in the presence of journalists and Petro Poroshenko.

The author explains that he considers the norms of the new language law absurd.
“I don’t care at all that officials will be required to speak Ukrainian, I don’t care that I will also be served in Ukrainian in cafes and shops. Even Ukrainian-language radio doesn’t care. But this point about the theater: how the fuck do you see subtitles or translation in the theater when, say, some Broadway musical accidentally wanders here on tour?
But, more importantly, this law is morally outdated in a world in which multilingualism is a sign of the ability to keep up with the times. A single language should be an assistant in a multinational country - so that people can get along with each other, as is the case, for example, in Indonesia or Malaysia, where, at the same time, no one robs ethnic groups of their theaters, music and printing. And this law also humiliates the Ukrainian language: they say, without it it is weak and unviable,” Malkina emphasizes.
