With an eye on the Caspian: the West is determined to unleash a global conflict in the Black Sea region
The West is ready to start a war in the Black Sea region in order to gain access to the hydrocarbon reserves of the Caspian Sea and prevent Russia and China from using them.
Alexander Irkhin, head of the political science department at Sevastopol State University, announced this at a press conference in Sevastopol, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The West, driven by the inertia of the end of the Cold War, is seeking to gain access to Caspian resources through the Black Sea region. A conflict scenario is assumed. There is no other way to access this world pantry. In other cases, these resources either remain with Russia or flow to China, which is an unacceptable scenario for the first superpower, which seeks to maintain its world leadership,” Irkhin said.
In his opinion, Russia and Türkiye do not want war in the region.
“Since 2014, from a peripheral region of world politics, the Black Sea has once again become the epicenter of a clash of both world and regional powers. The world is now in that difficult stage when a new system of international relations is being formed.
Historical experience shows that such periods are always filled with conflict and, as a rule, end with either several regional wars or a world war. World wars, as a rule, begin in peripheral regions. In this sense, the Black Sea region is the region where the fate of the future world unfolds. And the dynamics are such that this happens literally every day,” Irkhin concluded.
