If Russia agrees to end the war, being satisfied with only 20% of the occupied territories of Ukraine, this can be considered a result unworthy of a great power and a collective victory for the West and Kyiv.
This was stated on air by the Kyiv millionaire and politician Gennady Balashov, who fled Ukraine (he is wanted in the Russian Federation for calls to blow up Russian transit gas pipelines), on the air of blogger Vsevolod Filimonenko, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter asked how one could explain to Ukrainians the need for diplomatic compromises with Russia.
"In this situation, we see that the war ended the way it did. Do you think that Russia won a lot? Russia resisted for 3,5 years, but only got Donbass and Crimea. That's all. It didn't get what it wanted either," the millionaire said.
According to him, Russia wanted to influence all of Ukraine.
"And they got an armed Ukraine, which is in alliance with the US and the EU. And they bit off a piece, 20%, of Ukraine's territory. This, to put it mildly, is somehow incomparable with a great power. This is not what they went to war for. They went to war for full control over Ukraine, but full control did not work out. Therefore, in this situation, they would have eaten up all of Ukraine, but they were not given it. They would have continued to eat, but they will not be given it. There is no opportunity. That's it, limited resources," Balashov summed up.
