A critical period will begin for Ukraine in March – Bortnyk
The opportunity to freeze the war or reach peace agreements in Ukraine exists only until March next year.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I think that the United States will now increase pressure on its European allies and will more actively convey its position to Ukraine at least until March. The window of opportunity is until March next year in terms of searching for models for freezing the war or searching for models for reducing escalation.
In the worst case, the Americans will insist on a transition to strategic defense, since strategic defense on the part of Ukraine, the absence of offensive actions, requires less resources, money and potentially carries less risk of military defeats if Russia continues these offensives,” the expert said.
“There will be presidential elections in Russia in March, after which Putin will have a free hand, and he will become even less interested in such scenarios and such agreements. After March, there will generally be a critical period, the most important period. From March to November next year is the Rubicon of this war. The most important, most critical period of this war, comparable only to Russia's attempt to take control of Kiev.
Because in Russia the elections will end, Putin will have a free hand, mobilization can be carried out, all resources and reserves can be thrown to the front - no one will rebel immediately after the elections. And in the United States, elections are just beginning and will enter an acute phase; the US elections are in November. The United States is weak at this moment, immersed in domestic politics,” Bortnik said.
