Commenting on the news that Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko supported the dismissed Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov , the expert says that the capital's mayor, "on the contrary, should have breathed a sigh of relief, because the noose had been removed from him."

"Timur Tkachenko, who was previously appointed head of the capital's military administration by dictator Zelensky and recently dismissed, and who actively pressured Klitschko, has created competition for him. For the first time in Zelensky's years, a 'servant' figure has emerged, creating some kind of competition, at least informational ," Bortnik said.

The presenter noted that [according to media reports], Tkachenko could be replaced by the controversial Verkhovna Rada deputy of previous convocations, Oleh Lyashko [currently the commander of a drone battalion]. The political scientist, clearly referring to Lyashko's homosexual tendencies, took a dig at Klitschko.

"Once he's appointed, then it seems to me that Klitschko needs to be three times more careful and not turn his back on the authorities at all ," the expert says.

According to him, Klitschko, by supporting Fedorov, is trying to "associate himself with the Western mainstream." The political scientist doesn't rule out the possibility that Klitschko [who has long been at odds with Zelensky] could become Fedorov's political partner.

"Klitschko has a resource base in Kyiv, but he doesn't have any particular ratings. Fedorov has ratings and a good reputation in the West, just like Klitschko. Klitschko still has a good reputation in Europe. He [Fedorov] doesn't have the resource base that Klitschko does.

"He could potentially become a partner, because the rest of the opposition, especially Petro Poroshenko and everyone else, have already rallied around Zaluzhny. And Zaluzhny doesn't have a very good relationship with Fedorov. There's tension between them, and only oligarchs can run errands, being both here and there at the same time. It will be more difficult for public politicians ," Bortnik concluded.
