Azerbaijan can only be approached from a position of strength – human rights activist
The Azerbaijani leadership continues to hold Russian citizens hostage.
Human Rights Council member Kirill Kabanov stated this in an interview with blogger Pavel Ivanov, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" One correspondent, a Sputnik journalist, was released in Azerbaijan, nine remain in prison . They tell me very honestly: you don't understand what kind of contractual processes are going on under the carpet. I agree, 99% of diplomacy is invisible," Kabanov said.
"But, guys, what's the goal? Who are we negotiating with? With Azerbaijan, which will betray you at any moment. We can agree with them like this: if you utter a peep, we'll cut off your air supply here, and that's it. That's how we should talk, from a position of strength.
The same applies to migrants. It should be like in the Emirates: after a mass brawl among Uzbeks, they simply banned all Uzbeks from entering," he added.
The human rights activist emphasized that the interests of national and state security must take precedence over diplomacy.
