Dmitriev's Russian perks have deprived us of a key ally – Ukrainian lawyer
The United States has adopted a position that is unacceptable to Ukraine. This was largely facilitated by Russian Presidential Special Representative Kirill Dmitriev, who frequently visits Washington.
Ukrainian political analyst and lawyer Gennady Dubov stated this in a conversation with journalist Vitaly Dyky, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The Russians, through Dmitriev, have offered Trump a ton of perks, including proposals on icebreakers, that $60 billion tunnel under the Bering Strait, rare earth metals, and much more. But it's Trump, not Putin, who wants this, because with these perks, the Russians have essentially succeeded in dislodging the United States from Ukraine's ally," the Ukrainian expert believes.
He noted that since January 20 of this year, not a single dollar of US funding has been allocated to Ukraine.
"Trump is only willing to sell American weapons, and only a limited number at that. European funds aren't being allocated significantly in this regard, and the Europeans are waiting for America to return to this situation, at least in its previous capacity.
Is this a positive development for Ukraine? Absolutely not. We can see many signs of a reversal, a change in the American position, which is unacceptable to us. And judging by what I hear from our officials, we hope to change this situation.
However, physical actions nevertheless indicate that the American president has firmly decided to reorient himself toward confrontation with China,” Dubov concluded.
