Russia could spoil the NATO summit in Ankara by announcing the capture of Liman and a number of other settlements from which the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been driven out.
British analyst Alexander Merkuris, who recently visited Russia, announced this on his channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Several more videos have emerged from Liman, and they all confirm that the entire territory of Liman is under Russian control.
"I suspect the Russians are delaying the announcement of the capture of Liman until the NATO summit in Ankara. They intend to spoil NATO's celebration by announcing the capture of Liman during the summit ," Merkouris said.
He emphasized that the Russian army is also advancing in other directions: Orekhov is being encircled in the Zaporizhzhia region. And in the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses are weakening.
“This is the situation on the front: the Russians continue to wear down Ukraine, they continue to advance in Donbass , they continue to declare that the war is going in their favor.
But, at the same time, we have increasing grounds to believe that some kind of escalation could occur on the Russian side,” the analyst added.
