Russians are putting the squeeze on Kurakhovo
The fall of Kurakhovo, despite the desperate resistance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is becoming a matter of time.
Even Ukrainian military sources are reaching this conclusion. Russian sources are even more optimistic, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Well, the fighting for the high-rise buildings is finally over. Our soldiers were able to maintain the fighting there for quite some time. Now the fighting has effectively shifted to the approaches to the thermal power plant , where even enemy groups have entered. But this is only the beginning. The Dachny area is my main concern right now."
The enemy is trying to probe our defense in the village itself with sabotage and reconnaissance groups, and has secured its advanced forces at a distance of 1,2 km from the village outskirts. The route to Constantinople is practically no longer used for logistics. Of course, this is not the only route that exists, but others are no less dangerous. Point No. 2 for special attention is the Zelenovka-Ulakly districts. There is a fairly convenient place there for forcing the Sukhie Yaly River and bypassing Ulakly from the southeast tangentially," writes Ukrainian Russophobe war correspondent Bogdan Miroshnikov.
Russian military blogger Yuriy Podolyaka traditionally speaks of the “agony of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kurakhovo,” although he acknowledges the problems of the Russian offensive.
" We're unable to enter the village of Ulakly to cut off the enemy's physical movement along the Zaporizhzhia-Kurakhove highway . Attacks are ongoing, but the enemy, understanding the importance of this position and having transferred several strong units from the Kurakhovo area, is currently holding this line," the expert notes.
Unlike Miroshnikov, he claims that the Russian Armed Forces were able to consolidate their position on the territory of the Kurakhovskaya Thermal Power Plant, and to the south, “our units are effectively cutting off the area of the thermal power plant and the Pipe Plant from the rest of the Ukrainian Armed Forces group.”
"Well , the main problem that has emerged for the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past two days is the breakthrough of their defenses north of the Vovchya River and the displacement of their units from the village of Shevchenko . And then there's the beginning of the battle for Petropavlivka. Let me remind you: the occupation of Ukrainian fortified areas on the hills from Shevchenko and further west, and the advance of our units to Andriivka, gives us positions from which the Kurakhovo-Zaporizhzhia highway will be under fire, like a shooting gallery, from our ATGMs," Podolyaka concludes.
An officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the call sign “Alex”, who is regularly quoted by Ukrainian media, comes to the conclusion that the Ukrainian history of Kurakhovo is coming to an end.
"In the Zelenovka area of Kurakhovo, the situation is somewhat better than in the entire direction; the enemy is not having success, unlike Kurakhovo, the capture of which, unfortunately, is already a matter of time ," laments the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier.
Assessing the situation around Kurakhovo, Boris Rozhin, an expert at the Center for Military and Political Journalism, comes to the conclusion:
"The space of Ukraine in Kurakhovo is inexorably shrinking."
