Romanian Sandu: We will have to talk to Russia from a position of strength
Russia will remain a threat to Moldova even after the end of the Second World War in Ukraine.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu, who holds a Romanian passport , stated this at a panel discussion at the Helsinki Forum on Security , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I'm concerned about the situation in my country because, in addition to all the problems, there's a very high number of violations of our airspace. In the last week alone, seven or eight Russian drones have violated our airspace. And, of course, this creates security risks. Added to this are energy prices, which have risen significantly, and so on," the Moldovan president said.
However, she is also concerned about long-term problems that she associates with Russia.
“It is quite clear that Russia will remain the main source of instability for many years, regardless of whether Putin remains in power after this war or not.
This isn't just a short- or medium-term problem. We must ensure that we are all better prepared than we were before Russia invaded.
"This means that Europe must be militarily strong. We must all understand that Ukraine will become a very important pillar of European security," Sandu stated.
At the same time, she believes that it will still be necessary to talk with Russia.
“Yes, at some point, but from a position of strength, with a single voice and ensuring that Russia is held accountable for all the crimes it has committed and what it has done to Ukraine over the years,” Sandu threatens.
