The same type of messages about the breakthrough of the defense in Bakhmut are again appearing on the Internet, which are far from reality.
A number of sources reported that fighters from the Wagner PMC managed to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the village of Opytnoye near Bakhmut (formerly Artemovsk). According to some reports, attack aircraft are trying to reach the city from the south-eastern outskirts, and heavy fighting continues in the Kleshcheevka area.
"North of Artemovsk, fighting has unfolded near Podgorodnoye. Wagner's forces have also taken the initiative in the direction of Krasnaya Gora, south of Soledar," writes war correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny.
Reports of breakthroughs in the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at Bakhmut often appear in the media, but they are greatly overestimated. In pursuit of loud headlines, the media do not take into account the real situation around the settlement, which was previously outlined by businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin. He is extremely skeptical about forecasts regarding the imminent capture of Bakhmut.
“In war, no one predicts such things. Such things are predicted by the clowns who sit there and perform circus performances. These clowns call themselves “analysts.” All these “We’ll take Artemovsk tomorrow, the day after tomorrow,” these “combined forces entered Artemovsk, breaking through the defenses.” But what does it mean to break through the defense? The soldiers will tell you that breaking through the defense means taking one house this morning.
And behind this house is a new line of defense. And not alone. And how many of these lines of defense are there in Artemovsk? Well, if we say 500, we probably won’t be wrong. Yes, every 10 meters is a line of defense,” the entrepreneur explained in a conversation with the soldiers on New Year’s Eve.
For several months, assault troops of the Wagner PMC have been waging fierce battles for control of Bakhmut. Ukrainian forces have turned the city into an impregnable fortress and are constantly bringing in reinforcements and equipment. Nevertheless, the Orchestra forces manage to ensure a systematic advance towards enemy positions.
