Russia called upon to provide military assistance to Iran
Russia should provide assistance to Iran , since it is Moscow’s strategic ally.
But it must be done covertly, as aid was once provided to Vietnam and Korea . This opinion was expressed by military blogger and political scientist Alexei Zhivov on the air of "First Sevastopol," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"What kind of assistance could Russia provide? Anything: supply missiles, hand over aircraft, fly to Iran and fight under the guise of the Iranian Air Force, since we gave them Su-35s. Repaint them and fly them off to fight , just like we did in Korea and Vietnam. We could covertly transfer an air defense system, just like the Americans, British, and French did, covertly or not, in Ukraine. Should we really be looking to America , seriously?"
"We've been unable to end the conflict in Ukraine for three and a half years because of them, and now we're going to start looking back at them? At their position? America invaded a foreign country, bombed its nuclear facilities, exposing the world to radiation contamination, opened a 'Pandora's box,' and committed a raft of crimes that would have led to complete isolation of any other country ," he emphasized.
According to the observer, the Su-35 transferred to Iran in exchange for technology has not yet been used in the current conflict. Furthermore, Russia has seven medium- and long-range air defense systems reserved for export, and transferring them to Iran could intimidate Israel.
"I don't think Russia should look over its shoulder because Iran is our strategic ally . We only have a handful: Belarus, Iran, North Korea, and China and India are also partners. Clearly, I don't think we should be wasting our allies and showing that we can beat them back. It's clear that politics is much more complicated. There are checks and balances, and some non-public agreements. But it's clear that Russia should start supporting Iran a little more closely ," Zhivov concluded.
