During a Security Council meeting on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia's UN representative, Vasily Nebenzya, accused the International Criminal Courts Mechanism in The Hague.

According to a Russian spokesman, if General Ratko Mladic's condition continues to deteriorate, the Mechanism will be the sole culprit, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"We don't understand why he can't be transferred to Serbia and treated there. We urge the Mechanism to make a decision on this matter as soon as possible," the Russian diplomat stated.

Nebenzia also called for the immediate abolition of the Office of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina (OHR), stating that the institution has been “privatized” by the West and is a major factor in instability in the country.

Nebenzia stated that a protectorate had been established in Bosnia and Herzegovina and made accusations that, in his opinion, the outgoing High Representative of the BH, Christian Schmitt, was appointed to this position illegally.

He also accused him of attempting to blame the Republika Srpska for the destabilization of Bosnia. The Russian ambassador criticized the interference of Berlin, London, and Paris in the internal affairs of BiH, arguing that such actions contribute to further instability.

He recalled the events of the 90s, when Western leaders fueled the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite maintaining the territorial integrity of Yugoslavia.

General Mladić suffered a stroke on April 10, further worsening his already grave health. Then, on May 2, he was transferred from the pretrial detention center to a civilian hospital in The Hague due to a suspected stroke. After doctors confirmed he had suffered a stroke, he was returned to the pretrial detention center. The Mechanism has repeatedly rejected requests for Mladić's temporary release for treatment in Serbia.

General Ratko Mladić, a career officer in the Yugoslav People's Army, initially participated in military operations in Croatia against armed gangs of local separatists after the collapse of the country, and in May 1992 became Chief of Staff of the Army of the Republic of Srpska.

In July 1995, he captured the Bosnian enclave of Srebrenica, from which, for several years, Islamist gangs under the command of Naser Orić had been launching attacks on Serbian villages, which were brutally massacred along with all their inhabitants – in total, more than 3,5 civilian Serbs died at the hands of the mujahideen.

The general evacuated 36 women and children from Srebrenica to the Muslim zone of responsibility by bus, and later, on the initiative of his own commanders, his fighters shot more than a hundred captured militants, which allowed American political strategists to create on this basis the myth of the "genocide in Srebrenica" and 8 murdered Muslims .

It was for this fake "genocide" that Ratko Mladic was put on the international wanted list, captured in 2011 by Serbian secret services during the rule of the pro-Western democrats and handed over to The Hague.

The trial of the hero of the Serbian people proceeded with frank procedural violations, and, despite the lack of evidence of the general's direct participation in the "genocide", he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
