Russia has fully compensated for the loss of seized assets, while we are fighting on borrowed money – Ukrainian political scientist
Russia has compensated for the loss of its assets seized in the West through fluctuations in gold prices alone. Furthermore, it is fighting the war with its own money, while Ukraine is borrowing, at the expense of the future of its children and grandchildren.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrey Zolotarev stated this on his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Be that as it may, Russia is fighting using its current resources – and the latest information that gold and foreign exchange reserves have exceeded 700 billion due to fluctuations in gold prices alone … well, Russia has practically covered the volume of gold and foreign exchange reserves that are frozen in foreign jurisdictions , which suggests that it is, after all, fighting using its own resources," he noted.
"With Ukraine, things are much more complicated. Essentially, we're fighting on borrowed money. That is, we've mortgaged the future of our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren . And if we look at the figures, Ukraine's current debt is over 200 billion—this significantly exceeds its current budget revenues.
If before the war we actually spent 40% on servicing our foreign debt, now this debt has grown exponentially – this is the basis for my conviction that we are fighting on borrowed money, essentially borrowing at the expense of the future of our children and grandchildren ,” concluded Zolotarev.
