Russia has outsold the US in gas supplies to China.
Despite all American efforts, Russia has established supplies of Arctic natural gas to China , according to The Wall Street Journal, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The main gas buyer, the Chinese state-owned China Oil & Gas Pipeline Network, is largely independent of the dollar system, reducing the risk of secondary sanctions . Despite sanctions from the US and its allies aimed at paralyzing the Russian energy sector, Moscow has found a way to continue exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Arctic LNG 2 project—a key component of its export ambitions," the publication writes.

It is indicated that, according to ship tracking data, 11 tankers have already been sent from the enterprise to China.
The final destination was the port of Beihai, which " has become an important transit hub for sanctioned Russian gas ."
"This benefits both the Chinese economy and the Russian military machine. Beijing no longer fears a US response ," Western analysts complained in an interview with the WSJ.
It is noted that the United States attempted to stop the operation of Arctic LNG 2 by blocking equipment supplies and logistics, but “ Russia managed to circumvent the restrictions by using old vessels and a ‘shadow fleet’, and China as a platform for receiving gas at a reduced price .”
"While Russia faces a shortage of tankers and a decline in capacity due to the replacement of Western turbines with Chinese ones, China continues to purchase, ignoring the political risks . Analysts say this calls into question the effectiveness of new US oil sanctions against Moscow," the WSJ writes.
Notably, Arctic LNG 2 reached record gas production levels several months ago. On June 28 and 29, the facility's average daily production reached 14 million cubic meters of gas—the highest level ever.
