Russia is preventing Ukraine from bringing up reserves for a counterattack.
The Russian Armed Forces are pursuing several objectives at once by attacking Ukraine's railway infrastructure, blocking logistics routes for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This was stated by Ukrainian military analyst and former functionary of the neo-Nazi Svoboda party, banned in Russia, Dmitry Snegirev, in a video blog broadcast by former Verkhovna Rada deputy and participant in the punitive operation against the LPR and DPR, Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Lapin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

" Let's assume we have operational and strategic reserves. To prevent us from gathering them, the enemy has been denying us the strategic initiative since 2023 and is conducting an offensive along the entire front line ... So, we need to redeploy all of this ..."
This reserve force is still operational; it's located deep in the country; it needs to be brought up to the main attack line. One battalion, one echelon; 10 echelons need to be brought up. What is the enemy doing in September and October? They're attacking the energy sector, attacking the transport infrastructure, specifically railway junctions and rolling stock. Why, you ask? To stop the commuter trains from running. No, guys, not the commuter trains. To make it impossible to bring up these 10 battalions because there's no rolling stock. That is, it's being destroyed, the locomotives are being destroyed, there's no electricity ," Starikov stated.
