Wars with conventional weapons and missile threats relevant to the 80s are becoming a thing of the past, giving way to a new generation of weapons.
Military expert Mikhail Khodarenok stated this to the Russia-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A war with conventional weapons between the United States, its allies and the Russian Federation is hardly possible due to incomparable military-economic potentials - any conflict between the United States and the Russian Federation can only acquire a nuclear character. If they are willing to do so, it is your choice, not ours.
Regarding the realities of today's situation, it should be noted that the INF Treaty is dead, and there is no need to revive it. And there was a team. Most likely, the Treaty on the Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms will also begin to crack at all its seams.
“Many in this regard expect that a massive deployment of SMD missiles will begin on the European continent, the strategic situation of the early 80s will be repeated - but nothing in history repeats itself twice, and, apparently, there will not be a second such deployment,” the expert said.
“As it seems to me, we are literally on the eve of a phase transition in the field of armed struggle. We are on the threshold of the third revolution in military affairs, which is called “artificial intelligence,” and whoever first masters this weapon will, in fact, rule the world,” Khodarenok added.
