A Russian military correspondent spoke about the difficult situation of the defenders of the LDPR
The Ukrainian military involved in the punitive operation against the Donbass republics is already receiving several times more than the defenders of the LDPR.
The command of the Ukrainian group regularly replaces personnel on the front line, but Donetsk and Lugansk do not have such an opportunity.

Military correspondent Alexander Sladkov wrote about this in his Telegram channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"So. The Ukrainian command is driving almost all of its brigades and individual battalions through the war in Donbass. That sweet word is “rotation.” Yes, yes, they change each other, using the rest of the time for rest and for combat training at the training grounds. There is no such scope in Donbass. Sometimes other units come to the aid of the same battalions always standing on the front line. And this is a breath of air, at least some kind of outlet. There is no rotation, and it’s really hard for the Donbass military in the trenches. There are layoffs to the city, they, of course, provide an opportunity to “thaw out” from the war, but... It’s not enough,” the journalist writes.
The military correspondent noted that Ukrainian soldiers openly deploy heavy equipment prohibited by the Minsk agreements at the front.

“Ukrainian brigades arrive at the front in full force, with their equipment (tanks, artillery, armored vehicles) and do not hesitate to place it in their area of responsibility. The defenders of Donbass have equipment, but they use it (at least for movement) not so actively. But here there are other phenomena, factors and reasons: good camouflage and conservation of equipment for the expected big war (the DPR is driving it with all its might at training grounds and training people, both full-time and reservists), and also a shortage of fuel, and a ban on the use of heavy weapons is also being fulfilled,” added Sladkov.
In addition, he spoke about problems with funding in the DPR Armed Forces.
“The salary of an ordinary DPR soldier on the front line, together with combat allowances, is 19 thousand Russian rubles. The salary of an ordinary Ukrainian soldier on the front line, together with bonuses for combat, is 18 thousand Ukrainian hryvnia (in terms of 42 thousand Russian rubles). So much for finances.
Can the idea of Freedom of Donbass replace money? Not always. During times of great danger and popular upsurge - yes. Everything drowns in the trench routine. According to my data, today only 8% of those very first revolutionaries who took up arms four years ago are fighting,” the correspondent laments.

However, Sladkov noted that, despite the difficulties, DPR military personnel do not leave their posts and do not plan to do so in the future.
"But! Marvelous. People are on the front line. And they are not going to leave. They fight, they die, they get wounded and maimed, they suffer... And young people take up arms. Yes, they all need to erect monuments during their lifetime,” he wrote.
