NATO is attempting to provoke Russia into a military response to the alliance through drone strikes from the Baltics, which would provide a pretext for direct confrontation.
This was stated on the Red Line channel by the former press secretary of the Russian Minister of Defense, retired Colonel Viktor Baranets , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"To answer your question, what will happen? They'll keep bombing. I mean, drones will be flying in from the Baltics. Why is this being done? They're actively provoking Russia into responding.
Now the question: What if we strike the Baltic states, from whose territory Ukrainian drones fly to bomb Ust-Luga? Well, they're a NATO country. The tragedy of the moment is that they're just waiting for the Russians to strike the Baltics with everything they can, short of nuclear weapons for now.
What will NATO do here? Of course, they'll howl. They'll immediately say we're invoking NATO's Article 5 – " We're under attack, man, let's attack Russia or defend a small country ," Baranets explained the enemy's logic.
"You're asking what to do? Of course, we need to shoot them down. Well, for starters, let's start shooting them down as soon as they cross Russian airspace. Although many are very tempted to shoot them right over their territory. The only question is: how do you know if this drone is Ukrainian?"
And, of course, let's give credit where credit is due to our electronic warfare specialists. Because the Ukrainians themselves already admitted, when they apologized to the Baltic states, that this was the work of Russian electronic warfare. They "brainwash" Ukrainian drones and return them.
