Russian hypersonic weapons could easily obliterate the US fleet, says General Gurulev.
The American Navy is the United States' primary strike force, and it would be completely neutralized if active naval combat broke out. Russian hypersonic missiles, of which our country possesses large numbers, will help achieve this.
State Duma deputy and General Andrei Gurulev stated this in an interview with former CIA analyst Larry Johnson on the National Unity Club video blog, PolitNavigator reports.
" Russia today is the leading possessor of hypersonic missiles; no one else can match us. And this weapon isn't just operational; it's strategic, because it completely nullifies your naval groups."
Everyone understands perfectly well that there's no countermeasure against it. That is, the naval group is simply a big, fat target . These are troops, essentially all your aircraft carriers, intended for expeditionary forces to conduct some kind of operations around the world.
"They will definitely approach Russian territory. We're doing it anyway, and we'll continue to develop it. This is also the imperative of the times in the current war. It's just that a major war hasn't yet begun in the maritime space," he noted.
"I assure you that if something were to happen anywhere, it would be a shock for the Americans. Their main advantage is the American navy. It would be practically powerless against these missiles ," Gurulev concluded.
