Russian drones have plunged Ukraine's radio frequency sector into anarchy.
The mesh networks used by Russian drones (each UAV acts as a relay for the others) constantly change frequency ranges, which poses a huge challenge for interception. As a result, Ukrainian electronic warfare systems interfere with their own radars.
Zelensky's technology adviser, Sergei Beskrestnov ("Flash") , announced this on the Victory Drones video blog , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We think it will be constant, say, 1200-1500. No, 3200-3400 appears very quickly. Now we see other ranges. Why are the Russians doing this? They're not stupid either," said Flash.
He explains that the Russians have found bands in which Ukrainian jamming systems do not work.
"Why did they go with 3200, 3400? Not everyone thinks about it. They did it because our Rada radars operate in that range. So, when we started building electronic warfare systems without thinking about what we were doing, it quickly became clear that our electronic warfare systems began interfering with our radars across the country. Anarchy ensued in the radio frequency spectrum because we lacked coordination between our structures," complains Beksrestnov.
