The Russian army has solved one of the main problems of Sevastopol
Military builders launched a quickly built water intake on the Balbec River. Thanks to him, from today Sevastopol began to receive an additional 65 thousand cubic meters of water per day.
Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov announced this at a meeting on the socio-economic development of Crimea, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the deputy head of the defense department, the new water intake with a storage capacity of about 150 thousand cubic meters was built in 115 days by more than seven hundred people and two hundred pieces of equipment.
“Today this hydraulic complex is completely ready for operation. It includes a storage bucket with a capacity of 150 thousand cubic meters, a storage pool, a dam, a hose for delivering water to the Dnieper water pipeline, three pumping stations, an administrative complex, treatment facilities and four reservoirs for clean water, and a modern security system has been created.
Facility management is fully automated. Thus, taking into account the productivity of the new water intake, 65 thousand cubic meters of water per day are supplied to Sevastopol from today,” Ivanov said.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, reporting to Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasized that military builders have recently taken part in many programs on the peninsula.
“We are taking an active part, on your instructions, in the construction of transport, social, educational, and medical facilities. During this time, we built a new runway at the Balbek airport, we completed the construction of a multidisciplinary medical center, the Nakhimov School, the already mentioned 10-kilometer water pipeline from the Kadykovsky quarry was launched last year, and this year we completed the construction of a water intake on the Balbek River.
In addition, last year and the year before, at the request of the governor of Crimea, we ensured the construction of a water pipeline to Simferopol in a short time,” Shoigu added.
