The Russian army has opened a path to the rear of the Gulyaipole "fortress," according to an expert.
The Russian Armed Forces are occupying advantageous heights in the Dnipropetrovsk region, primarily to facilitate the advancement of troops in the Zaporizhzhia direction and in the DPR.
Russian liberal military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The most obvious and visible changes this week are the area where the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhia regions converge. Two settlements were mentioned – Hryhorivka and Novovasylivske – this is a direct route behind the Ukrainian Armed Forces group in Huliaipole. Huliaipole is a district center in the northern Zaporizhia region, and I would say it's a 'fortress.'"
"This is a fortified area, and we said it could end up in the oncoming traffic of the Dnipro and Vostok groups, and that's exactly where it's headed. Because from these two settlements, from Grigorovka, there's a direct road to the rear," Shiryaev said.
He pointed out another important detail.
"It should be clarified that, in my opinion, the Dnipropetrovsk region does not exist as a strategic objective. The Russian army is not tasked with occupying the entire Dnipropetrovsk region. They moved there to more conveniently operate in the Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions.
"Because the Dnipropetrovsk region has tempting altitudes, and they're important for the horizon, for drone operators to operate confidently. These are the locations currently being occupied in the Dnipropetrovsk region, primarily to seize favorable altitudes from the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the expert explained.
