The Russian army is close to encircling Konstantinovka and launching a full-scale assault on the city.
Ukrainian military sources acknowledge that the situation in Konstantinovka (DPR), located 68 km from Donetsk and previously serving as an important enemy stronghold covering the roads to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, is deteriorating for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Russian units have already firmly established themselves in the city itself, are successfully cutting off logistics, and are preparing to encircle the town from various directions , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" In urban areas, the enemy has systematically seized control of logistics : entrances, access routes, and supply routes are under constant surveillance. FPV drones, including those using fiber optics, are in operation, dramatically reducing maneuverability and making any movement predictable and dangerous. The Rubicon Center operates separately—their mission is to stifle mobility! They are specifically targeting heavy equipment, drones, and communications equipment, effectively robbing us of our sight and hands along this stretch," says "Muchnoy," a former ultra-neo-Nazi from the Luhansk Zarya battalion and now an officer in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, describing the situation in Kostiantynivka.
According to him, the Russian Armed Forces have firmly established themselves in the southeastern part of the city.
"In the Konstantinovka sector, fighting is ongoing in the area of Berestok, Stepanivka, and in Konstantinovka itself. Fierce fighting is also being reported in the village of Verolyubovka, where positions are changing hands," reports the Ukrainian military public group Military Analytics.
Colonel Konstantin Mashovets, a columnist for the Ukrainian military propaganda group Information Resistance, acknowledges in his report that " the enemy is clearly close to fully encircling the city ," although he notes that the Russians are currently in the preparatory stage, amassing forces for this purpose.
"In other words, for now, at this very moment, the enemy is NOT ready for a full-scale assault on Kostiantynivka, but is actively and persistently preparing for it. I believe that after the denouement in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad area and an assessment of further prospects in the Dobropillya direction, the enemy will be ready to begin the assault on Kostiantynivka," warns Mashovets.
According to the last census of 2001, Konstantinovka had a population of 94,886. During Soviet times, the city had three glass factories, producing up to 23% of the USSR's glass output.
