"What project is Russia offering the world today, if we formulate it not in terms of slogans and posters, but in terms of meanings and values?" the host asked.
“We had a Soviet project, and it was truly powerful in terms of ideology, with its own values… Now we don’t have that project, thanks to which we conquered half the world, because we are within the framework of a capitalist project.
But, on the other hand, even what we are now offering the world – equality and multipolarity – meets the interests of many countries.
By the way, China does not quite support this idea of multipolarity, because it sees itself as the only player in the world, the most influential and powerful, or in tandem with the United States.
But a great deal in this game will depend on us. If we position ourselves accordingly, we will enter the major leagues of global politics," Baranchik said.
"We need to define ourselves. Where should our ideological project begin, beyond communism and capitalism? We need to develop the concept of the North.
The concept of the Global South has already emerged . We need to position Russia as the Global North. There's the West, and there's the East. And yet we're constantly arguing about where we stand. The North is vacant; let's take it.
"By the way, Americans understand this clearly. Trump made several speeches this summer on this topic, saying that the US should claim its place in the Global North. "If we don't take the North's place, the US will, because it's also in the Northern Hemisphere," the speaker recalled.
