Röpke: We must blackmail Russia with Taurus supplies and the closure of the Baltic Sea
Russophobic German journalist Julian Röpke has changed his mind about the government of former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, which he had previously mercilessly criticized for its insufficient assistance to Ukraine. Now, Röpke sees that other Europeans are providing even less support to the Kyiv regime.
Repke stated this to the YouTube channel "Conversations for Ukraine," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Germany, despite all the broken promises and delayed aid, has become Ukraine's main supporter. And that's terrible. Russia is attacking us and has been trying to blow up our planes since 2024," Röpke lamented.
He believes that Germany could have taken an even tougher stance towards Russia and blackmailed it by supplying Kiev with Taurus cruise missiles and blockading the Baltic Sea.
"We rightly criticize the federal government, but if you look at most of the rest of Europe—France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Finland, Turkey—none of these countries are doing anything. Only the Scandinavians and the Baltics are helping—and even then, only partially," Röpke complains.
