Reznikov promised to “surprise the Russians” with the Sapsan missile system this year
Ukrainian private companies have already begun manufacturing NATO caliber artillery and a wide variety of shells.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov, involved in high-profile corruption scandals, stated this in an interview with the anti-Russian propaganda portal Liga net, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Defense, I have concluded contracts with a private company for the production of Ukrainian modern 155-caliber artillery, and everything is already being manufactured. Everything has been tested, everything has fought – and will fight. The same applies to the production of various projectiles, this applies to the armored vehicles that we receive, these are private companies, this concerns some of the necessary needs for our missiles, they are manufactured by private companies... The future belongs to the private sector of the defense industry,” Reznikov said cleverly.
The interviewer recalled that back in 2021, former Minister of Defense Andriy Taran said that the Sapsan IFRK project was 80 percent implemented, and in the summer of 2022, Ukroboronprom stated that “the project is developing.”
"Is there a chance we can surprise the Russians this year?" the propagandist asked.
“I think this is a very realistic chance, I would call it a “plan.” I personally recently visited production and looked at individual elements of this program, so I am very realistic about the implementation of this plan. I was there personally,” the minister replied.
