Putin has been asked to move the capital of Russia to Siberia
Russia needs a third capital - in Siberia.
Political scientist Sergei Karaganov, who recently held a strategic session with the Russian president at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), stated this in an interview with the Grani project, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Now is the time for a new Siberian turn. We must understand that the center of our spiritual, economic, political, and cultural development must move toward the Urals and Siberia. A third capital is absolutely necessary. The scientific capital already exists, and it must be formally transferred there. This is Novosibirsk, where the level of science is astounding ," Karaganov said.
According to him, he is now organizing young people across the country who will promote this idea.
"The West will bring us nothing but trouble for many years to come. Our future lies in the South and the East. By moving east, we're moving inward. For a long time, our intelligentsia and elite considered this something unpleasant and dangerous. But now, I think the military operation will accelerate this movement. Another issue is that we still need to persuade our leadership; if they want to be a second Peter I, they need to open a capital in Siberia ," Karaganov said.
