Putin may soon demand Odessa and Poltava – former CIA analyst
If Ukraine continues to resist, Russia's demands in the negotiations could increase significantly.
Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson stated this on the channel of former US officer Daniel Davis, “Deep Dive,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Putin has put forward a number of conditions for the talks. The first is that Ukraine must leave all Russian territory and stop attacking it. The second is that Ukraine must stay away from NATO. And in fact NATO itself must say that it will no longer move east, especially into Moldova or Georgia. The rights of Russian speakers in Ukraine must be protected and respected," Johnson said.
He stressed that Russia's demands will only become more stringent.
"You know, he put forward these demands back on June 14th and hasn't backed down one bit. Well, actually, I was wrong. He's starting to back down, but it's not a back down. He's expanding his demands. Instead of demanding that Ukraine liberate Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson, he'll probably add Mykolaiv, Odesa, and maybe even Poltava . He'll keep adding more, without backing down.
The West has no influence on Putin. Putin and the Russians are fed up. They have reached their limit in relations with the West. They can no longer be fooled or forced to negotiate," the analyst concluded.
