Vladimir Putin refused to comment on the statements of his Ukrainian colleague Petro Poroshenko, who protests every time the Russian president visits Crimea.

“I do not comment on anything in this regard, because the future of Crimea was determined by the people who live on this territory: they voted for reunification with Russia. All. Period,” Putin responded today in Sevastopol to journalists’ request to comment on Poroshenko’s words.

The day before, Petro Poroshenko protested against Putin’s visit to Crimea.

“Putin’s arrival in Ukrainian Crimea without the consent of the Ukrainian authorities is a challenge for the civilized world and a continuation of the scenario of escalating the situation, which is being implemented by the Russian military and their mercenaries in the Donbass,” Poroshenko said in a statement.

According to Poroshenko, the visit of the Russian president will contribute to “further militarization and even greater isolation of the peninsula,” and Crimea itself has a tourism future only as part of Ukraine.
