Putin made five strategic decisions that changed the course of the war – Arestovich
In 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy [who has now lost his legitimacy] should have realized that betting on Russia's defeat would not work.
Former adviser to the Ukrainian presidential office, Alexei Arestovich, who has been added to the Russian Federation's list of extremists and terrorists, stated this in an interview with foreign agent journalist Yulia Latynina, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The presenter noted that Zelensky, after the failure of the counteroffensive, should have already concluded in 2023 that continuing the war was futile.
"It was already clear that same year, when Russia began mobilization in the fall of '22. That's when everything became clear," the former OP adviser countered.
An offended Latynina asked not to quibble over words.
"No, that's the key factor," Arestovich countered . "Everything became clear much earlier. Putin made five strategic decisions in the summer and fall of '22 that completely changed the nature and prospects of the war. And everything became clear even then," Arestovich believes.
Arestovich did not specify which five strategic decisions Putin made. The context suggests that he includes among them the partial mobilization announced by Russia for 2022. Furthermore, it can be assumed that this includes the incorporation of new regions into the Russian Federation.
