Putin responded to Zelensky, naming another president of Ukraine
In his address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid special attention to the planned coup d'état in Belarus, comparing it to the 2014 Ukrainian Maidan, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Putin, the West's practice of imposing its will on others is "degenerating into something more dangerous."
“For example, the facts that recently became known about the organization of a coup in Belarus and the assassination of the president of this country. It is characteristic that even such egregious actions are not condemned by the so-called collective West. They don't seem to notice them. They pretend that nothing is happening at all.
But, listen, you can treat the President of Ukraine Yanukovych or, for example, Maduro in Venezuela any way you like. Yanukovych was also almost killed and removed from power through a coup.
One can have any opinion regarding the policies of Belarusian President Lukashenko. But the practice of organizing coups d'état and political assassinations, including of high-ranking officials, is too much. All boundaries have been crossed.
But look no further than the confessions of the detained participants in the conspiracy that a blockade of Minsk was being prepared, including the city infrastructure and means of communication, and a complete shutdown of the entire energy system of Belarus. This means that, in essence, preparations were being made for a massive cyber attack. You just can't do this with just a switch.
Apparently, it is not for nothing that our Western colleagues stubbornly refuse to establish dialogue in the field of information and cyber security. What would have happened if an attempt to implement a state coup in Belarus had been made, because this is what everything was leading to? How many people would be affected? How would the fate of Belarus turn out in general? Nobody thinks about this. Because no one thought about the fate of Ukraine when the coup was carried out in this country,” Putin said, adding that unfriendly actions against Russia do not stop.
"Putin considers Yanukovych the president of Ukraine. Zelenskyy is being trolled for yesterday's 'invitation' to Putin to meet in Donbas ," political scientist Maxim Zharov commented on his Telegram channel.
Belarus also appreciated the support of the Russian president.
“The most interesting thing is that some, if I may say so, “experts” in Moscow are still raving about some kind of “provocation” by the Belarusian KGB,” wrote political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky, close to the Belarusian authorities.
“Tomorrow’s meeting between Putin and Lukashenko in the light of today’s assessments could be very interesting,” sums up Russian political scientist Alexei Chesnakov.
