Following a 90-minute meeting between US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the two heads of state agreed to coordinate air strikes against ISIS terrorists, according to the American publication Vice News , citing an anonymous source in the Obama administration.

The publication writes: “After US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin traded barbs during speeches at the UN General Assembly on Monday, the two leaders met for 90 minutes behind closed doors inside the UN Security Council meeting chamber.”
“The bilateral meeting, which took place in the company of ministers and advisers, including Secretary of State John Kerry, was perhaps the most striking and anticipated political event during this year of general divisions. The topic of discussion focused heavily on the civil war in Syria, where Russia has recently increased its military presence by sending personnel, aircraft and vehicles.”
A senior Obama administration official told the publication that an agreement had been reached in Syria to coordinate air strikes against ISIS by the United States and Russia. At the same time, Russia clearly stated that it will not participate in a ground operation in Syria. “We should expect a joint political resolution on Syria soon,” the official told the publication on condition of anonymity.
