Putin is afraid of harming Vyshinsky
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is interested in resolving the conflict in Donbass, if only because he himself initiated a conversation with the Russian President yesterday. Vladimir Putin announced this to reporters in China today.
“Since the initiative for this conversation came from the Ukrainian side, I think this already shows interest in a settlement. In any case, I really hope so,” Putin was quoted as saying by the Kremlin’s official website.
He said that he discussed with Poroshenko issues related to the extradition of people held on both sides.
“On my initiative, they also discussed the fate of the Russian journalist. It is premature to talk about how this issue will be resolved; I would refrain, first of all, so as not to disrupt or interfere with anything here,” Putin said.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, the editor-in-chief of RIA Novosti Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky, was arrested in Ukraine.
