Pushilin told when and where in the DPR they will start calling for military service
Sooner or later, the DPR will have to resume conscription of young people for military service, since military training of men is a matter of security of the state and nation.
However, Republican conscripts will undergo training in the rear, and not participate in combat operations on the front line.
This was discussed during a meeting with students of Donetsk National Medical University. Maxim Gorky was declared by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I understand that the question (about conscription for military service in the DPR - editor's note) is related to the fact that there are a lot of rumors, speculation and other things on the Internet. I’ll tell you this: sooner or later we will still come to the point that conscription will be needed.
But this is not a call to the front line - we have qualified military personnel who protect our borders. The call will concern training in the rear, because a man must remain a man.
And, as practice has shown, war can be expected at any moment. We weren’t expecting it in 2014, but it came. Thanks to the fact that we had a sufficient number of people who had completed military service and understood what it meant to defend their land, we managed to survive.
Taking too long without conscription could negatively impact the safety of our country's future generations. But this year it is still premature to talk about a call,” the head of state said.
Let us remind you that today the ranks of the People's Militia of the DPR consist exclusively of contract soldiers - since the formation of the young state there has been no forced conscription for military service.
However, young people still undergo a medical examination and register with military registration and enlistment offices.
