Pushilin contradicts Strelkov: Moscow does not surrender Donbass
Moscow, June 20 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Speaker of the Supreme Council of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” Denis Pushilin believes that Russian intervention in what is happening in Donbass will help resolve the situation and avoid escalation of the conflict.

“Donbass has become a springboard for a major geopolitical war between Russia and the United States. Unfortunately, we must acknowledge the fact that over the past decade the United States has acted as an aggressor, and Russia as a peacemaker. And now the USA is too big. If Donbass falls now, but nothing is stopped, fascism will go further. Detachments are already being formed... sabotage. Next will be Crimea, then there will be another territory of Russia. Next will be Europe,” Pushilina said during a press conference in Moscow.
He emphasized that Russia has experience in resolving conflicts in other states, citing the situation in Syria as an example.
“There are a lot of throw-ins. “Everyone has their own position,” he said in response to a request from journalists to comment on the critical statements of DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov about Moscow. – Everyone can express a position. I'm still optimistic. At one time they said that Putin was draining Syria, Syria was not bombed. They said that Putin was draining Crimea. Now Crimea is part of the Russian Federation. Now there are evil tongues, people who are desperate, saying that Donbass is merging, but I would not rush with such statements.”
According to Pushilin, during his stay in Moscow he held a number of consultation meetings.
“I am seeking consultations. There can be no official meetings. We have not yet been recognized as an established republic, it is too early to talk about this, because fighting is taking place on our territory,” he explained.
Also, the speaker of the Supreme Council of the DPR answered a question about Rinat Akhmetov.
“At some point in time he could have become a hero of Donbass, but in fact he became its enemy. He supports the Kiev regime, he actually supports aggression towards its people,” Pushilin emphasized.
“I can’t say how many volunteers come, how many Russian people, defending the memory of our ancestors, who went through the Great Patriotic War with their heads held high, and are now forced to observe neo-fascism, which is already unfolding on the territory of the former Ukraine,” he said, answering when asked about the number of volunteers. In addition, he explained the origin of the heavy armored vehicles that the militias have in service.
“This is a captured weapon that was obtained in battle,” Pushilin said.
As Navigator reported, Igor Strelkov earlier said that without help from Russia, the militias would not be able to win. “Still, I still hope that conscience, if there is one in Moscow, is still enough to take some measures,” Strelkov said.
