The world continues to discuss an article in the German tabloid Bild, which allegedly published a scenario for an upcoming armed conflict with Russia developed by the German Ministry of Defense, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“On Day X, according to a secret Bundeswehr document, the NATO commander-in-chief will give the order to transfer 300 thousand troops to the eastern flank, including 30 thousand Bundeswehr soldiers,” the newspaper writes.
It is noted that already in February 2024, Russia will launch an offensive in Ukraine, which in the first month of summer will lead to the retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.\
“It describes, down to location and month, the actions of Russia and the West, culminating in the dispatch of hundreds of thousands of NATO troops and the inevitable outbreak of war in the summer of 2025,” the publication states.
The most likely location of the conflict is the Suwalki corridor between Belarus and the Kaliningrad region.
“In principle, I can neither confirm nor deny this report in the media,” Mitko Müller, a spokesman for the German Ministry of Defense, commented on the publication.
At the same time, he called Russia a “security threat,” adding that the results of the analysis of the situation are reflected in the drawing up of plans, the details of which he did not disclose.
In turn, the head of the Center for the Study of Military and Political Conflicts, Andrei Klintsevich, believes that the German publication is “outright lying.”
“The fact that Russia is really planning more serious large-scale offensive operations in the Northwestern Military District zone is a fact. The fact that Russia has not canceled the purpose of the special operation and our movement will only move forward is also a fact. The fact that we have already recruited almost half a million volunteers is no secret. But what is a lie is the need for us to carry out mobilization measures. Our politicians and the president have repeatedly stated that there will be no new mobilization. She is not needed now.
We focus on technology and destroying the enemy at long distances with high-precision weapons - missiles, drones. All this is now being produced by industry at a cosmic pace,” Klintsevich said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
He believes that the option of conducting military operations in Europe or invading the Baltic states has no logical basis or meaning.
“Firstly, these are NATO countries. We understand that if there is a direct armed conflict between Russia and NATO, it is guaranteed to lead us to the use of nuclear weapons. Our leaders have stated this more than once.
A German newspaper published maps indicating the range of our Iskander and Kinzhal missile systems from Kaliningrad and Belarus. If NATO suddenly wants to provoke a conflict and begins to blockade Kaliningrad from all sides - from sea, land, air - then, of course, Russia will unblock this region by force. Another question is that completely different weapons will be used. And we warned them about this,” the analyst emphasized.
According to him, NATO can assemble and transfer to the Russian borders a combat-ready group of 300 thousand people by uniting the contingents of the countries belonging to the alliance.
“But the question is that the level of confrontation will be completely different. This will no longer be a special military operation, but a full-scale war using completely different weapons and ammunition.
It is already guaranteed that it will not be possible to do without tactical nuclear weapons. It was not for nothing that we placed it in Belarus. This is our response to attempts to blockade Kaliningrad. We warned that if necessary, we would simply burn a corridor for ourselves,” Klintsevich concluded.
