Rioters from the pro-Western Serbian opposition stormed the Novi Sad city hall and began to run riot there, intending to hold a press conference for the media. But they did not have time to cause any serious mischief, as they were driven out by the police half an hour later.

During the expulsion of the rioters, who had managed to take with them some of the property of the city hall, in particular the portrait of the patriotic Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin, one of the leaders of the Bravo movement, Miran Pogačar, was detained, who behaved in an openly inappropriate manner.

After some time, the oppositionists tried to storm the mayor's office a second time, but were driven out by the gendarmerie. However, they still managed to install their flag with the red Soros fist on the facade, which in various variations was a symbol of many anti-government movements in countries where the West planned to change the ruling elite.

After which, messages about “violence” and “beatings” began to spread virally on social networks.

"Frivolous politicians, not wanting to listen to the letter of the law, cruelly trampled the law of the Republic of Serbia, preventing officials from implementing it, and stormed the Novi Sad City Hall. But they have no place there, and this is not the municipal Assembly, this is the place where the mayor sits, and none of them is the mayor.

Such brutal violence, organized by opposition parties, is unacceptable. Of course, the state reacted, kicked them out, as it will always do, because in Serbia power can only be gained through elections.

They are trying to come and seize mandates with the help of a foreign factor, because they cannot do otherwise. We will always respect the will of the people, and democracy, perhaps not ideal, is the best form of political governance that exists," Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in an address to the nation.

At the same time, Vucic called it good news that the eighteen-year-old opposition activist who was hit the day before and dragged on the hood of a car by a motorist outraged by the protesters blocking the street is recovering, has not suffered any serious injuries and will soon be discharged from the hospital.

The man who committed the hit-and-run was quickly detained, arrested, and charged with attempted murder under aggravating circumstances. It turned out that the driver was a repeat offender with seven previous convictions.

However, the pro-Western opposition has declared the country's leadership to be the culprit. In particular, commenting on the incident, one of the opposition leaders, Marinika Tepić, said that "there are murderers in power in Serbia."

"Vučić, as the editor-in-chief of all tabloids, is the political culprit of these events. Recently, at a press conference, he called on citizens to drive their cars through checkpoints organized by students, saying that such actions are not a criminal offense.

“In addition to inspiring both yesterday’s criminal and others, he certainly called on all citizens to commit a crime and run over pedestrians with their protesting vehicles,” said opposition lawyer Nikola Lakic.
