Ukraine could have started developing countermeasures against the Geranium rockets a year and a half ago, but the time was irretrievably lost.
Aviation expert and member of the Public Council under the State Aviation Service of Ukraine Bohdan Dolyntse stated this on Radio NV , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The enemy used its first rockets early last year. This means Ukraine has had almost a year and a half to develop the ability to detect and intercept such enemy weapons. But, unfortunately, we see that this has not yet happened."
“And those manufacturers who produced counter-attack systems focused on producing conventional quadcopter interceptor drones against the old-model Shaheds,” Dolinze lamented.
"As a result, they missed the opportunity and failed to develop solutions that would be relevant and in demand now . Therefore, additional time will indeed be needed – at least several months to six months – for these technologies to, firstly, be developed and, secondly, become truly effective," the Ukrainian expert added.
