Farewell, Istanbul: Russia Close to Achieving CBO Goal – Ex-CIA Analyst
In the next couple of months, the Ukrainian army may suffer a complete military defeat, and then one of the goals of the SVO will be achieved. Accordingly, the Istanbul negotiating platform will lose its relevance.
This was stated on the air of the Dialogue Works video blog by former CIA employee, American military analyst Raymond McGovern, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I take comfort in the fact that the Russians are playing a very careful game, and Putin is calm, collected and cautious. And we should be grateful for that and look forward to more talks in Istanbul," McGovern said.
The analyst stressed that Russia is stubbornly moving towards its goal, ignoring provocations.
“Whether they achieve anything or not is irrelevant, because within the next month or two, as soon as the Russians continue, one of the main goals of the special military operation will be achieved , namely the destruction of the Ukrainian army.
And then it will be more difficult from a reality point of view to agree on any kind of peaceful settlement,” he concluded.
