Farewell, unwashed Europe – Russia will finally turn to the East in a year
China consumed more Russian gas than Europe in 2025. Supplies to the West fell from 200 billion cubic meters to several tens of billions of cubic meters.
The head of the Energy Development Fund, Sergei Pikin, stated this in an interview with Vyacheslav Manucharov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" We'll stop selling gas to Europe in a little over a year. I think that's for sure. It's unlikely that anything will change during that time. It might just get worse."
The volumes of liquefied natural gas that were going to Europe will be redirected toward Asia, the Middle East, and perhaps Latin America. They will find their buyers: markets are growing larger and larger, and consumption is growing . As for oil, nothing will change, just the supply chain will shift," Pikin said.
According to him, India and China currently consume more than 80% of Russian oil, and export volumes are only growing . Gas exports have declined, but will return to previous levels after the construction of the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline.
