Is this Brigitte's doing? Macron appeared before the military with a bloodshot eye.
French President Emmanuel Macron was forced to explain to the military why his right eye was bloodshot.
This happened at a military base in the city of Istres, reports a PoitNavigator correspondent.
"I ask you to forgive me for this unsightly appearance. It's perfectly safe. Just look at it as an unintentional reference to the 'eye of the tiger' from earlier this year. For those who didn't get it, it's a sign of determination. I have it," Macron said, alluding to a scene from the American film "Rocky."
Thus, the French president "modestly" compared himself to Sylvester Stallone's hero. However, the Élysée Palace press service clarified that Macron had burst a blood vessel.
Journalists noticed that a blood vessel had burst in his right eye, and that Macron's wife, Brigitte, had recently slapped the president on the right cheek. Their altercation was accidentally caught on camera.
