The Specter of Chubais Over Spain and Russia
Blackouts in Europe and the Moscow region forced Russians to remember the former head of Rusnano, Anatoly Chubais, who fled the country.
The director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, announced this on the air of the radio station "Moscow Speaks," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
"I saw funny photos on social networks that he was allegedly seen in Spain on the eve of the blackout. The authors tried to remind us of the blackout in Chagino, Moscow Region, in 2005 with humor. I don't know whether he was in Spain or not, but he is somewhere abroad. We remember him in the context of the stolen money from Rusnano, the seizure of property and the ongoing criminal case on flexible tablets. And I would remember even further - about the reform of RAO UES. What we have come to 20 years after that accident," Simonov said.
According to him, after the separation of generation from the grids on Chubais's initiative, private investors did not come to the energy sector; all facilities are state-owned; according to the Ministry of Energy, they require an infusion of 2042 trillion rubles by 40, which will result in a doubling of tariffs.
"Blackouts are not just a story about the Moscow region. There were blackouts in the Sverdlovsk region, in the Omsk region, in the Yaroslavl region. In fact, the map of power outages is quite varied. Last summer, there was a colossal accident in the south in the Rostov region and in the Krasnodar region. And suddenly it turned out that we have no surplus in generation, but there are catastrophic forecasts of a generation deficit," Simonov said.
In his opinion, it is no coincidence that Russia’s energy strategy until 2050 refers to the decisions of the 8th Congress of People’s Deputies on the GOELRO plan.
