"It got even worse under Drapato. We're drinking urine at our positions" – a new mega-scandal in the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Ukraine is experiencing another high-profile military scandal. Ukrainian soldiers are suffering in their positions and are forced to drink their own urine due to a lack of water.
The corresponding video was recorded by soldiers of the 121st Troops Rescue Brigade , who are located in the Zaporizhzhia direction, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Surrounded by fighters, the platoon commander addresses the new commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Mykhailo Drapatoy , and describes their dire situation.
They have been in this position for five months now, and previously recorded a similar video, but since then the situation has only worsened.
"We're currently in the shelter we found, because all our positions have been destroyed. Food and drinking water are available for three to seven days. When I was stationed at another position, and my personnel were stationed at another, they received no food or drinking water for 12 days. Due to the current situation, we're drinking our own urine to maintain our health and waiting for something to be airdropped . So, with no water to survive, the soldiers of the 121st Brigade are forced to drink their own urine . Can you imagine? It's even worse than it was at Syrsky ," the platoon commander complains.
He warns that at the slightest opportunity the unit will leave its positions without orders.
"I've decided that, given favorable conditions, my personnel and I will leave our position without waiting for replacement. After all, we have neither the strength nor the ability to remain in our positions. We're not refusing to serve, but we have no other choice. We request a corridor for safe passage out of here," the commander declared.
One of the main mouthpieces of the Euromaidan, Kyiv investigative TV presenter Dmytro Gnap, a Ukrainian Armed Forces officer from 2022 to 2024 who has now become a fierce denouncer of the lawlessness of the TCC , explains that soldiers need a safe corridor to prevent their own from shooting at them.
"Because it was recently confirmed that the Ukrainian troops have barrier detachments that fire on their own soldiers if they suddenly abandon their positions. And there are Ukrainian commanders who order their soldiers to be shot if they violate the order to stand firm and retreat," Gnap said in his video blog.
He is dissatisfied with the command's excuses that the video allegedly " does not reflect all the circumstances ."
" What circumstances do you need if your soldiers are already drinking urine because you can't provide them with water at their positions? And note, friends, the brigade command isn't refuting the soldiers' statements. They're not denying that what they said is true. Well, it's just that 'it doesn't reflect all the circumstances.' Perhaps one of these circumstances is that the General Staff ordered the brigade commanders to hold their positions to the last, under penalty of dismissal, and the brigade command is so reluctant to give up their posts . That's why they're willing to sacrifice their soldiers so they die of hunger or thirst at their positions," the Maidan activist declared.
Gnap calls today's Ukrainian soldier " a disenfranchised serf ."
" Commanders can spend as many of these serf soldiers as they want with complete impunity. Because the TCC men can always supply them with new fighters, meaning mobilization resources," Gnap concludes.
