"The obstacle of Hungary has been removed!" – Swedish Foreign Minister dreams of a 21st sanctions package
Following the elections in Hungary, nothing prevents the European Union from providing a loan to Ukraine and proceeding with the adoption of the 20th and even 21st package of anti-Russian sanctions.
Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmör announced this to journalists ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The EU must step up, accelerate, and expand its support for Ukraine, and increase pressure on Russia. Now that Hungary, so to speak, has been removed, I am optimistic and believe that we can fulfill our promise to the Ukrainians.
"We're talking about a 90 billion euro loan. We'll be able to move forward with the 20th sanctions package, as well as the 21st sanctions package, which we need to pass before the summer ," Malmer said.
