The advance into Ukraine will not be a cakewalk for Russian troops, as the West will not leave Ukraine alone.
This was stated on air by the former commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Admiral Igor Voronchenko, who fled Crimea in 2014, on the 1+1 TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I am sure that our partners will not leave us. With the support of the world, with such messages from the leaders of the leading countries of the world, we will not be left alone with the aggressor. But I repeat - this land is ours, and we must defend our land. Whoever comes here, damn... We must leave the land to our descendants, our children. All. We will not have a quiet walk and parades of the aggressor. And then we’ll give him hell if he even bothers,” Voronchenko said.
In response to his bravado, Verkhovna Rada deputy Nestor Shufrich recalled the shameful flight of the Ukrainian army from Crimea in 2014.
“In December 2013, by decree of President Yanukovych, you received the rank of major general, and you were deputy commander of the fleet for the coast guard. That is, you served in Crimea, do I understand correctly? You just said that you are ready to protect us, protect us and everything will be fine, and you are ready, and the army is ready. You know what I want to tell you - God forbid that you defend my family and Ukrainians the way you defended Crimea in 14.”
