He began to restore order in every possible way. First, he slapped the hero of the occasion several times, and since he was unable to work, he began to clean the kitchen himself. How could he have known that due to prolonged drunkenness, after receiving several blows, the careless soldier would develop cerebral edema, leading to a deep coma. Six days later, without regaining consciousness, the soldier died in the intensive care unit of the Genichesk Hospital.
The head of the kitchen was tried under the article of abuse of power. At the trial, neither he nor numerous witnesses to the incident were able to give clear testimony, since they themselves were in a semi-fainting state as a result of alcohol intoxication. They proved guilt only based on the fact that no one denied the existence of a conflict, from the fact that the boss had an abrasion on the knuckles of his fist, and from the fact that the injury that led to the death of the victim was fresh.
For excessive zeal in the performance of official duties, the court sentenced the accused to seven years in prison and ordered him to pay one hundred thousand hryvnia in moral damages to the mother who lost her only son.
